The stage in the main ballroom. I was the only international participant invited to speak at this local-centric conference on the bond market. I felt honoured.

The conference organised by the Indonesian Bond Pricing Agency was a major one. Key players in the Indonesian bond market participated. Since the Chairman of the Indonesia financial services authority or OJK will be officiating the event, a big VIP room allocated. Food and drink were provided at the side of this large room.

It was a nice 2 hour walk in the jungle. Though it was raining and we were wet, we still enjoyed the experience. At the end, we came upon this hut where there is a natural well in the centre. Here we had our picnic courtesy of the resort. The interesting part of all this is that we did it all withing the resort's vast property of a few hundred hectares.

The activity after breakfast is the jungle walk organised by the resort itself. Tour was conducted by Mr Fendi, a well know character in the resort. There were nine of us, a couple from Britain, a mom and daughter from China and us. We need to go on a boat to where the tour starts. At this moment there was a slight drizzle.

Our final day in Tanjung Rhu. One final activity to do before heading back for home. First things first - breakfast. As usual, we are practically the only people out and about.

Enjoyed my breakfast.

Surprisingly, it was not full. But the food choices was plentiful.

Slept in and only went to breakfast at 9 a.m. (watch is still in Kuala Lumpur time). Breakfast was at Satoo Restaurant.

Huge city. It stretches as far as the eyes could see.

Jakarta is a young modern city. Not a lot of tall buildings yet. Not sure whether they will be building such buildings in the future as Jakarta is on the Pacific Rim of Fire.

Woke up to a very glorious morning in Jakarta. The weather was bright and clear. Took a picture of the city from my room.

Overall, very nice.

Bedroom is very contemporary and filled with local handicraft.

Too big of a room for just one person.

Traffic getting into Jakarta from the airport was a major pain. Even though it was a Sunday night, it took me close to 1 and a half hours to get to my hotel due to the traffic. Anyway, Shangri-La Hotel was a welcome sight. I was allocated a room on the executive floor. Nice.

We were lucky as there weren't a lot of people dining then.

Apart from the good food, there was also a live musician entertaining us.

That night was clear and I was able to see one the moon. Tried to catch it with my fingers!

That night we decided to have dinner under the open sky near the pool. My son acting out on a stone monument.

Decided against booking a limo to go the hotel. Queued up for a normal taxi.

After taxing to the terminal we disembark. The parked next to a SIA aircraft.

My flight was scheduled to land at dusk. The scenery was breathtaking.

After an uneventful 2 hour flight, we started to make the approach to Jakarta airport. In the photo below you can make out a number of large ships on the Java Sea.

I was invited to present a paper at a bond market conference in Jakarta, Indonesia. I accepted the invitation. Took a MAS flight out from Kuala Lumpur. Sat beside the emergency exit door.
