It was my father in-law's 72th birthday and we took him out to a western fine dining restaurant - Victoria Station Fine Dining (a floor above the VS restaurant in Damansara Heights). The ambiance is nice.

Last Saturday, the 28 December 2013 was my parents' 45th wedding anniversary. Had dinner at Cedar 15, Impiana Hotel KLCC. The hotel was nice enough to give a cake for the occasion.

I then proceeded to go to the extreme park centre near Presint 5. A heaven for extreme skates and skateboard enthusiasts.

Even after moving to Putrajaya in 2005, there is still a lot to see. This weekend I happened to visit Presint 11's community center. Wow, their public swimming pool is huge.

It was a wonderful local holiday. We enjoyed it immensely. But reality beckons and we have to make our way back home. Here we are waiting at the airport to board the plane.

Just before the flight back, I tried the famous Indonesian coffee "Luwak".

While waiting got the chance to sample some chocolate mouse courtesy of the hotel.

After a few hours, I went back to the hotel to have a late Japanese lunch and then I proceeded to wait at the lounge before my airport transfer arrives.

I took a taxi to go the the Plaza Indonesia. The biggest mall in the heart of Jakarta. Th top half of this picture is the food section of the mall where most of the restaurants are located.

Even though it is already 10 am in the morning, the weather was overcast. Actually I was surprised no one used the pool yet at this time.

The next day after the event, since my flight was in the evening, I had a good stretch of time to explore. The day started with a hearty breakfast.

After the self-tour, we walked down. But this time we use a different route. There is a walking path that snakes down the steep slope.

The galaxy-like design of the main lights was done to associate it with the fact that this huge room is called a 'Planetarium'.

It was just us. Nice.

The place was open and we walked in. We didn't see anyone so we decided to go on a tour of the whole convention centre. Below is the picture of the main convention hall.

We then walked towards PICC. We climbed a steep winding access road and as we progress, the view started to get really beautiful. I took the picture below on top of the official helipad of PICC.

The pedestrian crossing is very wide and could take on a lot of people.

Below the waterfall, a more jungle-like or more natural atmosphere can be seen.

The very large cable anchor sunk into the ground to keep the bridge standing.

The waterfall has been designed to look like gear teeth. The drop in height is about 3 meters.

Unfortunately, we were not allowed to cross the bridge due to security issues. A real pity. Anyway, we are allowed to walk down the bridge. Here you can see the artificial waterfall.

By then we were closer to the tall buildings which I highlighted earlier.

We then came across a pedestrian bridge over an artificial waterfall. Note the width of the esplanade.

On Christmas Day, we decided to take a long walk around the lake near Presint 5 and the PICC. We drove to the Water Sports Complex and park our car there and started to walk. The time was 11:20 am. Along the lake we saw a group of tall buildings on Presint 2. These are the only tall office buildings in Putrajaya. In the background you can also see one of the many ornate bridges over the lake.

We then pass the Heriot-Watt Campus that is still under construction. This is the first university in Putrajaya and its foreign!

There was also spaghetti for those not keen on turkey meat.

Over the weekend had a turkey lunch for the whole extended family in Putrajaya. Not all could make it but those that did enjoyed themselves immensely. Prepared 24 pieces of turkey legs into the oven. Some of the jumbo turkey legs being cut to chucks for the smaller kids. Wife got the recipe from the States.

For the adult, a healthy turkey drum stick, roasted potatoes, vegetables and drenched in turkey juice.

After 60,000 km, it is time to get new shoes for the Mercedes. So, during lunch break, popped over to a tire shop on Old Klang Road to get it done. Chose Michelin Tires. Below is the alignment test.

My son ordered a jumbo size fresh apple juice. It came is a jug-like glass mug. Awesome.

After walking for some time, found this Nyonya restaurant. Ordered all the authentic Nyonya dishes.

Over the weekend, I drove down to Melaka town to pick up my daughter and get a nice Nyonya meal. As usual, traffic in the city center was atrocious but I was able to get to Hutton Square to park my car. From there, it was all on foot. Below is a photo I took from a pedestrian crossing.
