As far as the eyes could see, blocks of land has been designed to grow Padi.

Just before Lumut, I saw this interesting agricultural project where huge expanse of land has been converted to Padi fields for rice cultivation.

I believed the journey could have been done is a shorter time period instead of what it actually took as the driver insisted in using the Bidor - Teluk Intan corridor to get to Lumut. The smaller road and the many traffic lights (and police road blocks) compounded the delay. After a few hours, we crossed the Perak river.

Due to some delay and the confusion by the bus driver, we started our journey at 9:00 am in the morning. As you can see, we got a 40 sitter bus to be used by just 11!

The first batch starts on Friday. The bus was scheduled to pick us up at the South Wing of Mid Valley Megamall at 8:30 am in the morning. Here is a picture of me and some of the staff waiting for the bus. The first batch consist of 11 staff.

The watches bought has value. However, it is very seldom you get an appreciation in value. Nevertheless, the used watch market is very lively and if you need to generate some cash, it is possible to do so. Expect a loss of 50%.

It is an expensive hobby. You need to be earning decent living before you can indulge in this hobby. Even then, if you get carried away, you can be spending a fortune!

I have been collecting watches since 2010. In the last 4 years I have amassed a sizable collection. From sports watches to formal, from diver watches to pilot, new to vintage and many others in between. The hobby has been both rewarding in terms of knowledge and fun.

Preparing a complete renovation of an office space takes a lot of planning. Unlike home renovation, it would be best to have a professional project manager lead the exercise. To get the main contractor, an open tender should be conducted so as to allay fears of favoritism or even worst - corruption. Below is a picture of a contractor interview that was conducted where we can query every aspect of the tender that was submitted.

Over the weekend, my second daughter had a birthday party invitation to this place called Jump Street near Jaya One in Petaling Jaya. We have not been there before so we decided to go as a family. After dropping off my daughter to the party, I then registered my other two kids for one hour. This place is a big trampoline park where there are literally dozens of trampolines of many designs where one can jump and do all kind of fun stuff. Situated in a very large warehouse, similar to a jungle gym concept. However, in this case adults also can take part.

Got this book from MPH over the weekend. Jeremy Clarkson is a very opinionated person and this makes for good read. Don't be too hard-up on what he has to say but to take it with a pinch of salt. Very entertaining. The book is made out of articles he wrote and published in newspapers. I especially like the one about letting Scotland go (written in 2010) to help the debt crisis in Britain. Fits in uncannily with the independence vote for Scotland that was just completed a few days ago (still part of Britain). He also wrote about why Turkey should not be part of the EU. Only in Nato yes. His argument "...you let your policemen take care of your street and property but it doesn't mean you want him in your living room...". I think this one statement says it all about how they (collectively) think about themselves vis-a-vis the rest of us.

For this event I wore my authentic flight suit with name tags. In fact, I won first price for the best dress guest!

Arranging the various wall clocks makes a nice decorative wall.

The AD also put up a B&R wall clock which looks really cool. I am not sure whther it is something available for sale.

Based purely on retail price, what you are seeing is approximately, RM300,000 worth of watches on the table.

After the end of the meal and mingling session, the all-important customary table shot of all the watches (only B&R though) that were present at the event was made. The guy doing the arrangement was very artistic.

The food in the restaurant, "Beast by Big", was tasty. I ordered the burger and it tasted really good.

More B&R to be molested while we eat.

The representative of MWF introducing the big boss of F J Benjamin (the one with the long hair) for the opening speech. It was a nice speech where he started introducing the company and the brand from historical perspective. He also mentioned about the new models that will be launched in the very near future. Although photos of the watches was shown to us, he did ask all of us to refrain from taking photos as it has not be officially launched yet.

To make the event unique, the AD set aside a few B&R watches on trays for each table for guests to look and review.

Slightly more than 50 avid watch collectors turned up for the event. After a short mingling session, we all took our seat for lunch.

On 13 September 2014, Malaysia Watch Forum and and collaboration with F J Benjamin (M) Sdn Bhd, the authorised dealer for Bell & Ross watches organised a lunch meeting with watch enthusiast in Kuala Lumpur. The purpose of the event was to introduce the company and Bell & Ross watches. Information on the latest offerings was also made available to the guests.

For a change in scenery, we rented a room at the Royal Lake Club in Kuala Lumpur for a Board meeting. To book, you do need to go through a member. For the amount of money we paid, we got a lot of room!

Last week, Luminox had an exhibition in the centre court of Mid Valley Megamall. The centerpiece of the exhibition is a giant model of a space shuttle as well as a life-size space suit.

At the end of the meeting we adjourned to the Orkid Room for lunch.

For Malaysia's 51th Anniversary, we spent the day having a traditionally Malaysian breakfast - home-cooked nasi lemak.

This is the usual size of the moon during normal times.

The super-moon. What a sight. It was bigger then usual.

The last couple of days, the last super-moon of the year will be seen by Earthlings. Signs were there to signify the event. For example, in the few days running up to the super-moon, the sunset looks bigger over Bangsar.
